Footmark was established in 2006 by some of the country's most successful independent retailers for professionals whose business reflects expertise beyond the normal.

To be awarded the Footmark symbol, stores must be a member of the Composite Retail Footwear Group whose knowledge, expertise and service ensure the shopping experience and value they deliver sets them apart from others.

The Footmark management board comprises leading retailers nominated by other retailers, and two independent advisors with expertise in relevant areas. They include:
